Paris arcades.
It is great to wander through these old arcades which run through the middle of large Paris blocks. They have a variety of stores including bookshops with old wares. Some even have little french theatres (live drama). The plays are in French of course.
The arcades often have steps in the middle or at one end. They sometimes have side passages which are accessible. You will have to explore.
