We stayed in Rovigo in 2011, despite the admonishments from Italian friends. “Why would you go to Rovigo? It’s like Geelong for a Melbournite. Worse!” But actually we had a good time, mainly because we were 10 km NE of Rovigo in a pleasant wheelchair accessible agriturismo called Agriturismo Tenuta Castel Venezze. It was a bit of a walk (or bicycle for Jill) into Rovigo and there is little to see when there but we had a good time. We also walked North 4 km to a village called San Martino di Venezze, on the river. There is also a crumbling palazzo and grounds just up the road from the agriturismo which was quite interesting.

Rovigo is about 80 km south of Venice, towards Bologna.
