This extensive complex includes peaceful enclosed gardens lined by vaulted porticos.

There is wheelie access from the large piazza to the east, off Via dei Bacchettoni. There is also wheelie access from piazza San Francesco. This entrance is to the left of the Chiesa di San Francesco. Just inside the entrance, on the right, is an “accessible” entrance to the church. This ramp is short and very steep but I got in after the kind assistant came over to steady me from behind.

The church is vast with lovely paintings, sculpture and stained glass. To the left of the alter is a door into a tiny museum and an accessible toilet.
