The Bloomsbury hotel has delusions of grandeur. Most of the rooms are very expensive and I expect they are probably quite grand, but the wheelchair room and accessing general was a bit dodgy. Entrance to the hotel is via a side door was a lift contraption. Sometimes it was quite hard to get the staff’s attention to work for you. The room is also on the side of the hotel, looking onto a brick wall. The room itself was quite small and difficult to manoeuvre in my power chair, but the bathroom was huge. This is not uncommon with fancier hotels; a slightly smaller bathroom and a bigger bedroom would be helpful.
Location in Bloomsbury is lovely and it was interesting to stay here once but we wouldn’t do it again. It’s a nice old-fashioned expensive stuffy hotel in a good location but the wheelchair accessible room is not up to scratch for the price.
