Lanhydrock house, Bodmin, Cornwall 2015

The original Tudor mansion was burnt down in the 19th C and rebuilt as a late Victorian country house. The woodlands are vast, and popular with joggers. The house is interesting, very large and well presented. It is staffed mostly by vintage volunteers. The kitchen area downstairs was extensive and most interesting for me. Wheelchair access was good. Only the servant’s quarters on the top floor are inaccessible. My partner said they were a good example of the class system. The gardens behind the house are lovely and also good for wheelchairs, although quite steep.
