Les Deux Margots is an historic left-bank Parisian café on the Boulevard Germaine. The café address is actually 6 place Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Founded in the 19th century and variously frequented by such notables as de Beauvoir, Sartre, Verlaine, Hemingway, Anaïs Nin, Camus, Picasso, Colette, Rimbaud, Joyce, and Brecht, it is now of course very popular with tourists. You will however find plenty of well-heeled locals relaxing out front on a sunny day. Prices are high but lounging with a Kir Royale or café while watching the passing parade and debating ideas with a lively friend is lovely. Put down that screen for a moment.
Perhaps an aperitif late afternoon after the lemmings have departed before dining nearby in a good local restaurant off this main thoroughfare?

This “Café Littéraire” also hosts an annual literature prize.
